In Memoriam

Rex Conner Stephenson Jr.
1968 - 2009

It is with a heavy heart that we are temporarily suspending our website activity, while we mourn the passing of one of our founders.  One who COARE believes was the heart and soul of our business.

His goals and intentions were, through COARE "To promote and support opportunities for meaningful employment for persons with disabilities; and to advocate for legislative and public policy changes that enable persons with disabilities to attain economic independence."  These goals were attained by Rex through COARE and through his success; he was an inspiration to us all.

Rex Stephenson was a hard working and industrious founder.  Throughout the years that COARE has been in business, his innovative ideas, his constant dedication and his stubborn nature kept this business thriving.  He showed us that being disabled did not mean UN-able.  He taught us that everyone could make their way in this world, no matter how able or disabled  He was proud of this company and all that it stood for and he always tried to do what was best for its customers and its supporters.

Rex passed away, on January 29th, while in his 41st year.  He lived a full and long life, and he beat the odds of Muscular Dystrophy, by a long shot.  Through COARE he found personal fulfillment and close friendship.  He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
